This is Lori, the owner of The Groom Room replying. I am out of town and therefore haven't had the chance to follow up personally, which I do with every new client. I’m sorry for that.
I’m not certain if you are the same person who came to the shop because my groomer had a proactive and positive conversation with the customer who dropped off and picked up Soma and Fuma about the challenges and needs of your dogs.

Your Chihuahua, Fuma, immediately started marking all over the shop and was aggressive when he was picked up.
We were able to find a comfy spot for him during his grooming breaks in a puppy pen next to his groomer and he was quite happy to lay on a bed. He was comfortable being handled for his groom and did quite well overall.
Your Bichon, Soma, intensely tried humping other dogs, likely because he isn't neutered, which wasn’t relayed to us prior to his visit. He also had to be separated for the comfort of our other visitors. He was extremely excitable on the table, again very likely related to hormones, to the point where he was at risk of harming himself because of his constant moving. He is not aggressive at all; just extremely excitable and constantly barking.
Moreover, his coat was tightly matted which further adds risk to a groom. My groomer avoided a complete shave and carefully worked with him to a successful and safe outcome.
Your dogs were well loved, cared for and well groomed.
You were charged an additional fee, taking into account the time and care that were additionally spent to ensure a positive outcome for your dogs in spite of their behaviour challenges. Suggestions for remedying the challenges were proactively offered and well received.
Our promise to clients is to be 100% transparent and honest in the most supportive way possible in hopes of creating the safest and most comfortable grooming experience for all our visiting dogs.
If you were surprised by this feedback, it’s possible other groomers haven’t felt comfortable to be honest or you’ve had the dogs groomed within environments where they are away from other dogs.
Many shops avoid this transparency for fear of exactly what has happened; a dog owner who is perhaps offended or may not understand the complexity of grooming who then posts negative reviews without considering the most important part of our intention — to work collaboratively with our clients. We are willing to take this risk because dogs don't have a voice to share their experience and needs.
